What will my donation go towards?

Donated money will be distributed to Vinnies centres throughout New Zealand so localised support services can continue operating and keep up with increasing demands.

Can I get a tax receipt?

Yes. All donations over $5 will receive a tax receipt. Please email national@svdp.org.nz if you have not received a receipt.

Why do we need extra funding?

Vinnies centres throughout New Zealand experienced a 90% reduction in funding with the closure of op shops, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The pandemic has seen extreme increases in the need for support services to communities around the country. Food security, financial hardship, addictions, housing, and income support & employment are key social areas requiring support. According to the Ministry for Social Development, in the 3 months to September 2020 the number of people receiving a main benefit increased by 23%. For those people on a Job Seeker benefit the increase was even greater at nearly 43%. Vinnies volunteers are doing their best to meet the needs of people in our communities but we need your help.

Can I help in other ways?

Right now, people like you are critical. We need your support now more than ever. If you are unable to make a cash donation at this time, you can support our mission by:

  • Creating your own fundraising event to raise donations from your family, friends or corporate networks.
  • Volunteering at your local Vinnies.
  • Shopping at your local Vinnies Op Shop.
  • Share the Vinnies National Appeal with your network.
